Ms. MINATO is a Technical Officer at the Monitoring Unit of the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety,
and has been managing various projects and programs at the WHO headquarters since 2011.
She is currently responsible for estimating the global, regional and national burden of foodborne diseases,
and for measuring impact of food safety activities at the global level. Past portfolios include foodborne antimicrobial
resistance and the optimal use of medically important antimicrobials in food sector, integrated surveillance of antimicrobial resistance,
tripartite collaboration among FAO, OIE and WHO.
She obtained Master of Public Health at the University of Tokyo with nutritional epidemiology concentration, and a native of Sapporo, Japan.
